Featured Speakers
June 24 - Hillcrest Golf & Country Club, Altoona
"Survive and Thrive" - Speaker: David Saber, Senior Consultant, Wipfli LLP
Strategy and Strategic Planning has never been more critical to the continued success of any fi nancial institution. After all,
these are not ordinary times. Many core assumptions in the fi nancial services marketplace have come into question, and
the extraordinary uncertainty in our industry has dominated recent headlines. Join David Saber for a short discussion on
strategies to think about as we move toward the future.
"Empowering Main Street" - Speaker: Michael Marx, Vice President, Great Lakes Regional Offi ce, ICBA
Community banks did not cause the fi nancial crisis and are essential to America's economic recovery efforts. Hear how
ICBA is working to ensure community banks are not disproportionately affected by any new fi nancial regulatory reform as
the debate and legislation moves forward in the Congress. You'll also learn about the association's continued efforts to
help community banks continue to lend by promoting proposals to spur lending to small businesses and by urging a more
measured approach by regulators in bank examinations.
June 30 - The Bull, Sheboygan Falls
"Regulatory and Industry Update" - Speaker: John P. Behringer, CPA, & Bill McDonald, RSM McGladrey
Recent activity and update on regulatory actions since last year. Discuss current credit topics and emerging regulatory issues.
Review health of Wisconsin Banks relative to key regulatory ratios and impact on the industry going forward.
"Executive Compensation Changes" - Speaker: R. David Fritz, Jr., CLU, and John Anderson, Associate, Executive Benefi ts Network
Members of the Executive Benefi ts Network will provide a current update as to the status and types of executive compensation
and benefi ts programs that are being utilized in today's, heavily regulated economy. In addition, EBN will discuss the
opportunities and application for Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) in today's low-yielding investment landscape.
July 21 - Wild Rock Golf Club, Wisconsin Dells
"Community Bank Market Update" - Speaker: Mike Saccone, Assistant Practice Leader for Community Banks, Travelers
The Community Bank Insurance Marketplace presentation will consist of what is happening in the insurance marketplace
with regards to community bank insurance. It will encompass general market conditions, issues driving the market, how
Travelers is responding, what Travelers underwrites, and why insurance matters. There will also be an opportunity to ask
questions at the end of the presentation.
"Maximizing the Value of Debit" - Speaker: Dave Schneider, President, Pulse
Debit continues to be the fastest-growing electronic payment method, even in a sluggish economy. Consumers love
the speed and convenience of debit, and increasingly opt to use their PIN at the point of sale. But debit not only holds
appeal for cardholders; it is also the second-largest generator of non-interest income for fi nancial institutions. Debit card
programs will become increasingly important as banks look to replace fee income lost as a result of changes in Regulation
E that impact debit-initiated overdrafts. This session will focus on maximizing the value of debit for your bank, and
will include data from the PULSE 2010 Debit Issuer Study, a comprehensive study of the debit card industry.
